We've Updated Our Article Guidelines

2025-07-16

We, the Editorial Board of the Goettingen Journal of International Law, would like to inform you about the recent adjustments to our Article Guidelines. These updates regard the use of artificial intelligence and the citation of non-Latin sources.

  1. Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI): In light of recent technological developments, we have adopted a detailed policy concerning the permissible and impermissible use of AI tools in manuscript preparation. While AI may be used for non-substantive tasks such as language editing, citation management and outlining, it must be not employed for drafting any part of the substantive content. Authors remain fully responsible for the originality and authorship of their submissions.

  2. Citation of Non-Latin Sources: A new section has been added to specify the citation format for sources written in non-Latin scripts. Such sources must be cited in their original script, accompanied by an English translation in braces. Additional guidance is provided for capitalization, translation and repeated citations.

We kindly ask all contributors to review the entirety of the updated Article Guidelines prior to submission. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at info@gojil.eu.
